Choosing Connection Over Perfection
Here’s your gentle reminder: your child doesn’t need a perfect parent. They need a present one. Messy dinners, silly bedtimes, imperfect days, those are the moments they remember.

Cycle-breaking parents often feel the pressure to “get it right” all the time. That pressure can backfire, making you feel tense and disconnected. It’s okay to lower the bar on perfection and raise it on connection. Eat the messy dinner together. Let bedtime be silly instead of scripted.
Your child won’t remember how perfectly you handled every moment, but they will remember feeling loved and safe with you. Not to mention all the fun you had together!
